NURSING IN DUBAI Dec 02, 2008
I would like to hear from Expats nursing in Dubai. I am an Registered Division 1 nurse in Australia with post grad in ICU. What are the nursing conditions like there? Are nurses held in the same regard as they are here (Aust) or is back to the bed pan days attitude? Thanks.

I'm not a nurse but I would guess unless you get into one of the more expensive private hospitals (American, Welcare, City), then conditions are not going to be as good as in Oz. There's a large supply of Filipino nurses that work for low wages relative to western countries.

bonks advice is spot on, very few western expat nurses come here unless they are some sort of specialist. Also nurses are on the driving licence ban list.

Only in Sharjah now. A clarification was in the news the next day.
