haha.... all the teachers i know say they are underpaid! most of the private schools here are continually pushing the price of their fees up, but not pushing up the price/ package that they provide the teachers with - simple profit taking because of supply and demand.

two teachers i know actually left dubai, as they couldn't put up with the attitude of some of the children - ill dissaplined, no respect etc. and their hands were tied with respect to enforcing and kind of disapline (and i'm not talking corpral punishment - simply detention and writing lines).

one likened it to teaching in a government school in the uk, but with better facilities!

on the upside, you should see the presents they would get just prior to exams - i'm not kidding now, i'm talking serious gift vouchers for damas, diamond earings, watches etc....

Thanks for the warning but I am an experienced teacher and have worked in numerous different settings. Every school is very different with positive and negative factors and I am under no illusion that teaching in Dubai will be a 'walk in the park'.

Kids are kids no matter what their backgroung or cultural upbringing and they do like to push the boundaries. I'm sorry your friends felt so miserable but I'm sure they'll look back and be glad of the experience

I guess I need to try it out for myself and hey if it all goes wrong at least I'll have a few pressies to soften the blow

I suspect the pressies are given in order to influence the final results

Mentoring future generation is a responsible task. So we take enough care in providing the best teaching faculty in our school. Most of them are postgraduates and PhDs in their subjects, thus ensuring world class quality education in the campus.

PhDs? In a school  ?

Little Johnny is not impressed :? .

At least they have a website.
