How binding are Contracts???? Mar 08, 2006
Hey all, (sorry for double-posting)

I have an interview for the choeuifait school in Dubai, here in Dublin next week. They told me that often the interviewer will ask you to sign the contract on the spot. How binding are contracts??? Can i sign it and break it if something better comes up??? I want to go to Dubai but this school seems a bit totalitarian :salute: , and i will only take the offer if nothing else comes up...

Can i just sign it and say feck it if i decide not to...they can't do anything to me, can they???
:?
Advice please wise ones... :bigsmurf:

Merci,

Vanessa

if you sign a contract it then becomes a legally binding document and it will hold up in a court of law (UK and Ireland) if you break what was agreed in the contract you sign into.

So be careful

However in the case of a contract between you and a perspective employer it will most like have a term such as:

You must give 1 weeks notice of leaving with in every 3 months therefore after a year you must give a full months notice.

So if you sign up and then something comes along you can get out of it but not very professionally and it will not look very good if this employer has a good reputation and then says that you played them a merry dance to other employers you may wish to be interviewed by.

So play it cool and read whats in the contract just don't sign it there and then, take it away with you, read it and if its suitable sign it. if it is not suitable don't and say you are sorry, this could then lead them to offering you more.

Hope this ramble helps
