Only looking in from the outside as I haven’t moved over to the UAE yet, but a question on dept. I have read conflicting reports. Some have said that they end up trapped in the country when they fall in to financial difficulties and the only way to leave is to do a runner. Where on other stories I have heard of people been deported because of running up dept.
So what are the facts, has your nationality got anything to do with it?

you dont get jailed for having too much debt. You get jailed for being stupid enough to give your debt-issuing bank an undated cheque that they can cash at their whim.

its the bounced-cheque that gets people in jail, not debt.
