Communities and school in Dubai Jul 08, 2010
Hi all,

I have read through different posts on the forum and i did not find one that exactly answered the questions that i have.

I will be leaving the UK and joining the expat gang in Dubai in September 2010.

The move is quite sudden and thus we have not had much time to organise and I am hoping that some of the esteemed members of the Dubai Forum will be able to point me in the right direction.

My family will be joining me in October/November 2010 after I have located somewhere to live and school for my children to attend to starting January 2011.

My children are aged 3 and 5 and we wish to live in a community so that they can get to socialise and play with other children while I am at work. My wife and children really like the idea of living within a community of likeminded people.

Can anyone direct me to a good community that is close to a school? A community where there is a shared swimming pool and plenty of socialisation.

I have done some research and I see that Arabian Ranches would be a great place but it seems that there is a waiting list to get into the school (JESS) that could result in many years of waiting to actually get into the school.

Additionally, my daughter is a ‘Rainbow’ (junior to the brownies) and we would very much like to get her into Rainbows in Dubai.

Any guidance is truly appreciated.

Regards

Your right about the waiting list at Arabian Ranches. There is rainbows there though.
JESS Jumeriah is in a nice area to live with compound style villas and swimming pools. There are several other british schools in that area also.
The springs/meadows(emirates hills) has a British school and community pools.
Jebel Ali and DESS are other british schools but not in the main living communities.
Mirdiff also has a school and is a cheaper place to live.
There are several Rainbow troops around Dubai and I would guess that they are located at some of the british schools mentioned.
