i am pakistani passport holder. but living in uk since last five years. now my current visa status in uk is "post study work visa" valid until sep 2010. but now i am thinking to move in dubai for good. so am i able to exchange my uk licence with uae licence with out giving driving test or not? if yes so what documents i need to provide and what is the procedure. if any one can help me on this......thank you.[/quote]

I think that you will have to do some lessons and a driving test. Please contact the Dubai Traffic Police to confirm from the source.

UK driver's license is allowed to get the USE license but your passoprt must match your license. So in your case the answer is No. Not without taking classes

K-Dog is right., but its not hard to get one here from driving schools

However do expect to fail between 2-3 times before getting your license. The authorities here are not in a rush to issue new licenses in order to control the number of cars on the road, so the examiners are keen to fail applicants.
