Hi all,
moving there next month, been doing some research in the internet, and could not find any option to lease a car. Is that possible though?
Why everybody buys instead of leasing?

Yes, leasing - both short and long term, are readily available here.

if you compare buying to leasing, leasing is slightly more expensive.

leasing you obvoulsy are not responsible for the mainteance and registration of the vehicle.

when you deceide to leave the country you don't get anything back. if you buy the vehicle you can at least sell it and recover some of the money you have paid in on it. bear in mind the market value of second hand vehicles here is quiet low; then again something is better than nothing.

There are companies like Diamond Lease and the usual Hertz, Budget etc. A small car can cost around DH150 a day but a rate of DH1500 per month. Your company may have a corporate rate of say DH1300 per month. Petrol is inexpensive. Buying is inexpensive and the loan repayments are not dissimilar to leasing but you will get a more useful car ie. a 4wd (second-hand) that means you can drive on the sand and drive over all the road work down Jumeirah Beach Road.
