Anyone flown in on Etihad? Jan 15, 2008
Hi looks like I'm flying in on Etihad to Abu Dhabi and then take the bus to Dubai. Anyone done this before? Is it fairly quick to get thru immigration and all that stuff in Abu Dhabi? And what problems am I likely to encounter having my visit visa from Abu Dhabi instead of Dubai?

I went to Dubai in October 07 for a weeks holiday (coming from Australia) Found Etihad to be great service, will fly with them when i go again in March. Had no problems going through customs etc etc

Thanks

The airline is very good.

Going through AD is sooo much better and quicker than Dubai. No queue and a lot less distance to walk.

I generally prefer to fly into AD over DXB on a regular basis nowadays. To be honest i never bother with the bus transfer, its far quicker to jump into a cab/taxi, the cost to Dubai is around 200dhs, make sure you haggle the driver for a lower price.

agreed, customs line very quick (if there is one at all!) Be careful if a sole girl traveller however or you may get asked out by the customs official.

Takes 10 minutes from the plane to get your luggage and get through customs.

Plus the airline itself has great entertainment. Food is quite average though

Will let the person incharge for F&B know this.

I traveled to Dubai the same way. It was a painless trip. However, the RTA will not process a Dubai drivers licence application with a Abu Dhabi entrance stamp in your passport.

well I made it. I am in Dubai. I can't say I enjoyed the airline. They were over 2 hours delayed. And it took forever to get my luggage. The food wasn't good at all. But the good news is I made it to Dubai. Only thing is my visa is only for 30 days and my husband who flew in with emirates into Dubai got 60 days. Oh well. should have my resident visa by then anyway otherwise I will be doing the visa run.

Yes flights are cheaper from UAE to Aus than the other way round.
