GLOCAL Gallery Talks: Islam and the Arts: An introduction with Dr. Ulrike Al Khamis, Islamic and Middle Eastern Art Collections Advisor, Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization.
Ulrike holds a BA (Hons) in Islamic Art and Archaeology from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, and a PhD in Islamic Art from The University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Ulrike has held the position of Curator for Muslim Art and Culture for Glasgow Museums, and Curator for Middle East and South Asia at the National Museums of Scotland in Edinburgh. She is currently the Islamic and Middle Eastern Art Collections Advisor at Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization.
Audience members are invited to arrive at the museum one hour before the gallery talk begins when they will be granted complimentary entry by registering at the museum reception desk, and will be free to explore the museum.
