Babydoll,

I wouldnt hold your breath,

In my reply to soupie's disapointment when organising a night out.

People Talk the Talk, But do they Walk the Walk ?

Dont want to appear too negative. My own experience of organising nights out. You need to get a deposit as soon as possible before booking the event, at least 25% of people will make an excuse the same night they agreed to come. 30% the next day and if your lucky you will end up on the night with 30% of the original people.

To most it's a case of it seemed like a good idea at the time or everybody else was going so i decided too !

Regards.

I haven't seen something like this happen before Freon. I have to say, I've been to several events organized by DF and they've all had a pretty good turn out. I think Soupie has just been unlucky, or more likely, NO ONE on DF drinks JUST tea.

Its utterly sad that the Tea party thing didnt happen, but its just a one off incident, i've attended a couple of them... n the turn out was good... usually more people turn up than expected. And freonMAN(dont use boy, man  :) :) ) I thought your comments were disappointing and demoralizing, even a bit too early if u'vent attended any of the DF meets.

As for the Tea thing...apologies to soupie, for the mental and monetary damages...Something went wrong as PP said .. but surely... it would be held again..

Okay back on topic,

First off I really do want to apologize for letting this slip a bit, work has gotten the better of me.

Secondly I won’t lie, Soupie getting fcked over was not something I appreciated seeing.
I’ve been involved with organizing a couple of events and they have all went off without a hitch including the first ever DF meet so I’m going to give this a shot and think positive.

Okay here is the deal.

It’ll be Nov 24, if I get a minimum of 20 people I can make our own private after safari tent event. The price will be base 150 plus the extras that we choose, I’m going to say everyone budget aprox. 200, closer to 300 if you want to camp plus alcoholic beverages if you’re inclined.

The stuff that’ll be included.
• Desert Safari (typical landcruiser in the sand event)
• Henna
• Shisha
• Food
• Sunset in the sand,
• **** I think most of you have done similar events so you know the score.

The options are
• Camping (tents and breakfast will be provided)
o Oh and for Sara, yes there is a 60% chance of bathrooms
• Having a lamb (traditional meal), all the expats here in previous posts who’ve never had a traditional local meal should definitely get in on this.
• And a couple surprises that’ll be mentioned at a later date

What I need from you, if you want to come, let me know, we’ll arrange for a deposit. If you say yes you best be showing up

Special note for soupie, if you come we’ll all pitch and pay for your ticket, hope you can make it.

Start posting your names here and lets get this happening.

Also there will be sandboarding, along with the belly dancer and the camel rides for the kids. and usually alot of tents will have a couple of ATV's that you can tool around in (not 100% sure if ours will)

thank for supporting me

fayz i am in. I suggest you start a new thread with the details. Whats happening lately is the event itself is lost with the actual discussion beforehand.

It should be a blast ..
