Im a new member here and plan to visit Dubai between the above mentioned dates, just wanted to know if there are any interesting things happening between those dates which i could look forward to?

Lots of 12 hour brunches I imagine.

I was referring more to concerts / stand up comedy I guess..... Anyone know if there will be any artists performing round about that time?

Yap, or you could buy a <timeout dubai> magazine in any supermarket,only cost 5 dhs. It list a lot of places refer to sport,culture,restautant,night life,movie,live shows, I think you will enjoy some of that.
