Realizing I have been here 3 years now and thinking of all the grand plans I had for living in the region, hardly any have come through, mostly my fault for thinking "I can always do it another time". With my time left in DXB dwindling, there are many things I wanted to tick off the list of "things to do here while you live here, as you will never do them when you move home". In no particular order:

1. visit Beirut
2. visit Petra
3. take a Seawings flight over DXB/Palm/World
4. live by/on the beach
5. camp in the desert with friends (have all the new kit, tags still on)


Anyone else?

I wish I had visited Petra, Cairo, and Muscat.

It is looking like I will be living near the beach come Oct. 15. Tick one off the box! As a guy that grew up in the mountains of Canada, it will be a real novelty for me. I will probably go once. I have had a pool the past 3 years and been in it 5 times. (never had a pool, either back home).

As far as the desert camping goes, I am now sans 4X4, so I guess out of luck there. Mrs. DD is off the month of Nov, and I will be easing into retirement so maybe I should rent something?
