Do You Approve of What This Woman Did in Parliament??? Sep 25, 2010
Her name is Licia Ronzulli. She is an MEP (Member of the European Parliament.) She brought her baby to work to make a statement I guess.

Following the photos from Reuters, see a link to an article in the Guardian about this story:

Why not?

Most people in politics are there to further their own ends anyways - hence the amount of hot air and BS that eminate from these Ivory Towers (no, thats not in Business Bay, its JLT i think?)

That a woman takes an infant with her to such work really makes no difference to the woman, the child or the quality of work performed - Does the reality that she may have to actually breast feed it offend you?

Take a look at some of her corpulent colleagues! Chances are that they are sitting around feeding their faces chocloate and pomme frites most of the day anyways and I for one know which I would rather see!

Oh the nappies ?? See above, with that much BS flying around, one fully laden Pamper could go unnoticed for days

SO she gets my vote - go for it

Personally I think she was trying to make a statement, however in many countries of the world it is quite the norm to take baby's to the work place.

I do believe however that a person in this position should have made some form of alternative arrangement rather than bring a 7 week old baby to obviously disturb things when it got hungry etc.

Have you ever heard the noise in the House of Commons when they get hungry ?

The House of Lords - food is perhaps their sole reason for being, decisions on the fate of thousands hardly ruffle a feather in there BUT the lunch menu, well thats a totally different matter !

Not sure if she really did it just because she wanted to make a statement. I think it’s more like getting free publicity. She was an obscure MEP before, but now her name and pictures are all over the world media.

Maybe that crazy preacher in Florida has started something here!!

Good for her!

Women want equality and here is an example of it at work...literally.

I bet her husband was off having his nails done or 'doing lunch' with his other out of work mates.

Hmmm not sure, but having children shouldn't stop women from doing their jobs I guess.

Judging by the levels of competence in the European Parliament, the contents of the baby's nappy is probably the most intelligent comment in the room!
