I'm not sure who you are refering to benwj but BM fits that bill. I am having a glass of me favourite Jacobs Creek as I type, straight out of the freezer. BM is a class act!.

BM has had a tough day at work. Her team was lenient yesterday as BM was keeping her head down after the office party on Friday, but today they were in full swing and unforgiving!

At 3am on Saturday morning my FB status had been updated to 'i will never drink again, I promise'.

BM took comfort, today, in noting that the Director of Financial Services and her Manager were still speaking to her.

BM was also comforted in knowing that her favourite work mate Christopher, gorgeous as he is but who bats for the other side, and I don't Australia, is also still speaking to her after being groped by BM later on Friday night. LOL

When the Chardonnay has depleted BM reverts to the Shiraz in desperation. I'm afraid that moderation isn't a word in BM's dictionary.

Do any other DFers admit to coming close?

Are you being slightly modest BM?

The jury's still our on the others, but the first step is acknowledgement, and you are well past that!

We were limited to only one drink per person at our office party... but managed to get around that:

mmm, not sure what you mean benwj, by am I being modest? I know what I am, and that is a lush I enjoy myself and don't mind admitting it. I would like to think other DFers do too! Life is for the living.

I'm pleased to see your office (garden) party went well. We weren't limited to one drink tho'! Working for the Government, nothing is free and we pay for all so are not limited and therefore maxed out on the G&T's. The plan was to stay clear of the Chardonnay as it tends to go to BM's head. The plan backfired as the G&T's went to BM's head too!

I was at a dinner party and had two glasses of wine with dinner, then two G&T's when we were playing board games. The next day was not good... I couldn't keep a mouthful of water down and puked too many times to count. I got out of bed at 5:30pm and only then could finally keep a small glass of water down. I've learned my lesson that a "fun" alcohol buzz is not worth the hangover the next day. I'll stick to a glass or two of wine or beer with a meal so that I can still enjoy without the suffering.

Are you sure it wasn't the out of date caviar?

No, I was the only one sick and it wasn't intestines or anything with it. I didn't make the drinks myself, so they likely could have had double the amount of alcohol, so basically like drinking 4 G&T instead of 2.

The office party is always a good excuse to find out who are the 'Sidney Sippers' and who can really hold their own!

Glad to say I fall in to the latter category and have been known to put half a litre of Jack Daniels to good use at the annual crimbo fall down.

Moderation (apart from on this forum) is not in my vocabulary either!

Bloody hell Kanelli, this is hardcore.

I will admit to being a player...but not of board games.

Fortunately I don't suffer from hangovers, two annadin extra and a pint of orange usually sorts me out.
Our office session started at midday and i finally gave in at 9.30pm. Don't know how much I sank but was lighter in the pocket by £50. I was up at 3am bright as a button, well I looked ok afer I removed yesterdays mascara.
Instead of hangovers I tend to get blank spots. My friends took great delight in filling them in for me yesterday which led to another stressful day and a couple of glasses of wine to follow. They have yet to explain the bruise the size of a small tangerene on the side of my rib cage. I expect they are saving that for Christmas Eve.

Zubber, BM knows that you're not a drinking man. Let me explain that if you were to drink a gallon of Chardonnay you wouldn't be doing much walking or mingling.

I think that was the one - we were only watching/listening to the live concert footage part. I think they have a newer one out called Tour of the Universe: Barcelona. Would like to see that!
