welcome to UAE :)... there are many good places but if you can be specific what kind of evening are you looking to spend in Dubai??? is it with a partner, family, with friends or alone? do you prefer places that play music, serve alcohol, dine, smoke shisha? etc.

let us know and we will be more than glade to advice,

meanwhile look around or use the search option... as the same question being asked many times and you may get an idea on where to go :)

Thanks Qutaro appreciate the help. I'm just looking for a few decent bars with a bit of an atmosphere and music, but nothing to BOOM BOOM as I'm to old for it!

Somewhere to meet folks and have a beer or 10

You should try the Sharjah Wanderers Rugby Club, not a bad watering hole

Cool places to go:

The Blue Bar at the Noveotel, Trade Centre. Small and intimate and live jazz on a thursday/friday nights.
Vintage Wine Bar at the Pyramids, Wafi City. Really chilled and a great wine selection with fondue.
The Cellar at the Aviation Club, Garhoud. The bar area is small, next to the restaurant, but nice and cosy.

Slightly louder:

Double Decker at the Murooj Rotana. Like an English pub, on 2 floors!
Waxy O'Connors at the Ascot Hotel, Bank Street. Go upstairs, its quieter! Great brunch offers on a friday.
Irish Village at the Aviation Club, Garhoud. Legendary Irish pub with live music and good food.

Really loud:

Longs Bar at the Towers Rotana on Sheikh Zayed Road. OK if its quiet but sometimes hard to get in as it gets packed out.
BarZar at Madinat Jumeirah. 2 layers of drinking!
Jambase at Madinat Jumeirah, has a restaurant as well but live music and lively.

Off you go!

:D :D :D

lol dont go there they bloody crap.

there is a new aquarian open up on al khan go and visit that. if u like fish i suggest u go to the fish basket on al wahda. if u want a walk i suggest you go to the corniche in the evening or even go for a boat ride.

shj has its own sharjah eye (the wheel) on the canal. its ok for 20 dhs.

yeh theres a awsome paintballing arena since there are 2 of u just tag along if some group is playing ask them if u can join in.

apart from that nothing much. cinemas and shopping malls. as for the drink sharjah wanderers club will do the trick. if u r REALLLY old i suggest u get in touch with a member called Sage :D Sage probably falls in the same ago group :D
