Anybody have an idea what happened to facebook? Is it permanently blocked in UAE?

I don't think it's blocked. They are probably performing some maintenance. They have made some changes recently.

Where does that come from?, I use FB to keep in touch with so many of my family members!!!

i honestly thought it was gay too but like sage said its great to stay in touch with your family members and long lost friends.

Gay as is not sexual orientation wise but looser wise. I've found all the long lost buddies I need to or care to find and FB as outlived its usefullness to me. Keeping in touch with family and friends? Email, Phone, fax, chat, voice chat, VOIP etc etc take your pick.

People are truly obsessed with it and I really hate those stupid things on it, people poking you, sending you fruits, hugs, kisses, beers obnoxious invites to join blah blah group, take so and so compatibilty tests and quizes, WTF what fruit are you, seriously !? and not to mention FARMVILLE Errrgh !!! All these are what actually annoy me to no end and put FB in the Gay category. ok now that I've thought about it a litle more make that Uber GAY !

As a broadcast bullitien which keeps every one up to speed what you or they are doing I guess its alright its the other crap that is GAY !

yeh you can do all that but no fun in voice call, emails, or even FAX (does anyone really fax their relatives )

FB its much more fun because it allows nearly all your family members to interact with each other. They know who posted what where, they know who posted what pic, comment on certain things etc etc

yes you can chat with them but since there is such a time difference you cant really interact with all of them at the same time.

but i got to agree some people really ABUSE fb, i know bunch of people who just use FB to show others how they partied in dubai on the weekend :S

Who cares if FB is down? Go out, get to work, etc. it's not the end of the world.

I use FB occasionally, but dont get those who think its useless just because they dont use it......

Its a very convenient way of sharing pics, keeping in touch with friends etc.

Now obviously many those who are 40+ may think its useless as they find it difficutl to navigate etc., so fine, dont use it!

I wasn't cheesed off, I was however wondering what the difficulty was as stated by BlackburnRovers.

he meant to say that 40+ are a bit slow when it comes to browsing and cant really navigate or see big buttons in front of them
