I got my hands on an Arabic ad newspaper and was shocked that 'special' or I guess 'vanity' mobile phone numbers were going for so much.

There was one phone number that was being sold for 20,000 dirhams!

So, I was wondering has anyone here ever bought a vanity mobile phone line (like 544 -77770) and how much did you pay for it?

What do you think about the lines in general? cool or stupid?

And even license plates...like the "1" that sold in Dubai for like 4 million $ !!

This is stuff for people who have that much money that they don't know what to do with it.

At least the money won in those auctions for license plates is going for charity.
