Thanks to Arniegang's and Sage's "invitation" I have been frequenting another forum. Today I found this post (from a long time member) which puts things in perspective and I thought I would share.
"Hi all.
I've not posted for a while as my wife has been very ill. Sadley, she passed away early in the week after a 5 year battle with cancer. She was only 36.
She was the pluckiest and the sweetest person I have ever met, and she taught me so much about myself. She was my absolute rock.
I made a promise to her as she lay dying that I would find the strength to look after our 3 children and give them the very best of me, from the both of us. It is this promise that keeps me going.
She was extremely ill but kept going because she wanted to make our 10th wedding anniversary blessing and actually shrugged off hospital to make it. It was the happiest day of her life, and mine for that matter.
Only once did she ever say she wanted to give up, and that was right at the end. She earned the right to let go. She was a monumental mother, soulmate and she was my best friend. If you are reading this, please say a prayer for her, that she may finally be in a happier & peaceful place. If you're not the praying type, please play a tune or raise a glass in her memory. I am immensely proud of her.
I'll probably disappear for a while, take stock & spend some quality time with our children, then come back a better person just for having known her.
My very best regards,
***"
