Just been diagnosed with ms at 24 absoluetly devasted by it, had mri scan, lumbar puncture and other tests and three days later I was told I had it . Anybody else here got any info or has the disease?

We are talking Multiple Sclerosis here?

yea dk, my dad wants me to come back to dubai as he says dubai have far superior hospitals and docs. Where im from we have 1 specialist doc to cater to 20,000 people so i suppose its a no brainer

Dubai has better health care than Ireland ? Really.

Yeah I would seriously question that wisdom too. Europe knows far more about the treatment of MS than almost anywhere. I would seek help from the one in 20,000 rather than chance your arm, or leg, with any number of quacks here.

The only MS doctors know here about is Micro Soft !

If you are happy and have friends and family in Ireland for support, it is best to stay there, at least until you have a handle on it. You may have already been told this, but the instances of MS increase, the closer you get to the poles, so I would expect the treatment to be better in Europe. Advances in treatment are happening all of the time and once you have this in place, there is no reason why you cannot live a long ans successfull life.

I seriously doubt they wouldhave anyone in the UAE that could deal with MS effectively.

Thanks for all the advice , decided on London, specialist hospital over there, going to drive my medical insurance premium through the roof! lots of shops too wonder if I can squeeze into Harrods with all the "flash coves"(old english cant for flashy rich people)(see post on visiting emiraties to london during the summer)

Sensible decision, but stay away from Harabs if you can! Harvey Nicks round the corner on Sloane Street is possibly a better bet.

For real bargains, head for Camden Market and shop til you drop!
