Socceroo Moore arrested in Dubai Sep 17, 2010
Former Australian international Craig Moore has been arrested in Dubai under the influence of alcohol.
The 34-year old ex-Brisbane Roar captain had an alleged drunken clash with police after he was pulled over for being suspected of drink-driving.
Being drunk or under the influence of alcohol in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates is illegal and Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade today confirmed Moore was in police custody.
Local news outlets were notified that Moore would be held in custody before appearing in court on the weekend and if convicted, would serve any time in a local jail.

No sympathies here, just because he is a minor celeberity down under. He would be in the slammer for drunk driving in any country including his own if he was over the limit. Just that over here the limit happens to be ZERO and for all the crap goes on in this place. This is one law I fully support and stand behind.

If other countries also adopted this and enforced it with strict penalities, there would be a lot less lives lost in meaning less crashes.

Only in the UAE you can be jailed for drunk driving while taking a taxi.

Read the link you provided. He wasnt arrested for being drunk but for getting into a fight. Ofcourse being drunk in public is illegal will be used against him aswell. It is illegal even in Australia*

CRAIG Moore was arrested in the United Arab Emirates after allegedly being involved in a drunken brawl with a taxi driver.

If he would have just STFU and gone back to his hotel nothing would have happned. Was probally being a git. You never heard of anyone being pulled to the cop shop atleast spending the night in slammer for creating a ruckus in the US, UK or even Australia.

Atleast pick the right battles to fight Caps. Once again reading into something that isn't there

* http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_intoxication

it is technically illegal in most states and territories of Australia to be drunk and disorderly
