Fantastic idea! However, what about those place where the portion size is so huge, you'd have to be a giant to finish it anyway?

Interesting. In India I realized they found it offensive if you don't finish your meal. I remember when we were visiting we were excited about the food and as it was really cheap comparing toTehranorDubaiwe used to order some different kind of food just to try the names. Well It was not too much waste but anyway we couldn't finish it. And then we found out that they just order as much as they can eat and it doesn't look good to leave your plate half eaten.

melika969 , It's true, in some cultures leaving food is a sign of rudeness. I like the idea to encourage people to only order what they can eat, but as I said before some portions can be huge and there is no way you can finish it, so maybe it's a two fold problem and that restaurants need to reconsider their serving sizes.
