Tunis: A Tunisian health official says a woman who claimed she was pregnant with 12 babies underwent a medical examination that showed she is not pregnant.
The official says the 30-year-old teacher from central Tunisia had agreed to the ultrasound exam after initially refusing.
Doctors concluded she is experiencing a mental condition called a "phantom pregnancy" by which women can believe they are pregnant and develop some symptoms.
The woman had claimed she was expecting six girls and six boys.
Health experts say a 12-baby pregnancy is next to impossible.
