It seemed more because the drainage system back then was worse than it is now. There was a time in the early 90s when Karama used to be underwater every winter. Then they dug up all the roads and upgraded the drains. Now there's barely a puddle above 2 inches.

Yes, far more is right. I seem to remember a 2 week period of rain every day almost all day. And at times hosing down much more than the drizzle we had today.
