I think any trust in this picture lies in the previous keepers duties in making sure the lion was well fed and sleepy! I think if the lion was hungry it would be a much different picture!

Wow, that is definitely one courageous person, I remember watching a program on animal planet, about another guy who does this, Apparently the person has to give each one of those cats equal attention, or their predatory instinct kicks in and well the person becomes lunch.

I am sure he must have had a few close encounters with them too, there was a story once about how the lion inadvertently tore off his masters leg , and it was just having fun
