uaekid wrote:you should direct your stupid questions to your self ! and should go like this : is there is locals in jail and face the same punishment for such an act ? the answer is yes.... you see you and the other sheep's need to understand your problem ! you are only focusing on what happens to foreigners and not the locals, and that's why you see no justices bcz it's only on your head. do you get it ?
and do not excuse your wrong doing just bcz others are doing it or not getting punished for it, it proves you aree a sheep that follows blindly.
good luck... bash away
Tom Jones wrote:This is a clear case where the punishment does not fit the crime. I just hope that the Ajman authorities do not carry out the sentence because it is grossly unfair!
I can understand that some Sharia judge sentenced the poor man to 80 lashes for drinking alcohol, which is in line with strict Islamic judicial laws. But hopefully that harsh sentence gets waived by the authorities!!!
Laws are made to be applied intelligently, not blindly!!!
Here is a good example of a case in Holland where the punishment was too severe and the courts reversed the punishment and compensated the victim. The case involves a private firm, Mcdonald's, but it illustrates the proper application of the principle that the crime should fit the punishment -- which is a known principle in ethics and law.
Hooray to the Netherlands!!

It simply means the LAW is the LAW it doesnt matter if its backward or forward, its the LAW and it doesnt matter how you use it, you can criticize it nor denny it but you can never judge it, you only need to face it.

Crudeboy, don't flatter yourself that you resemble a local - that's to say that Indians and Pakistanis look Arab - and then that would also go in reverse - Arabs look like Indians and Pakistanis.
Quite a few years ago the locals wanted to make it illegal for non-locals to wear dishdasha because Indians were adopting it as a form of their identity.
