Online recruitment firm performs vanishing act

Dubai: Job-seekers who have paid to register on a Canadian-based recruitment website fear they have been conned.

The applicants who logged onto the site www.jobsindubai.com were promised jobs in the Gulf and the Middle East in reputed companies across the region. The website also featured a branch office address on Shaikh Zayed Road. However, applicants who went looking for the office said they were shocked to learn it did not exist.

Is anyone really surprised

Well yeah people shouldn't be surprised as how many times has it been said that a reputable recruitment agency never charges people to register? They get fees from the employers they place people with - people will never learn.

cmon dude those ppl had to go to the offie first inorder to see if it really exists and how could they gurantee employement it was uttet common sense

anyone who paid up front to an agency to find them a job obviously does not deserve to ever gain employment again for being so lazy and completely stupid.

Actually this company threatened us.
They also contacted my hosting provider and threatened to sue them if they don't close the forums.

I seem to remember getting Google text ads for them on my blog a few a months back.

Actually I just got a message from my hosting provider that they wrote.
May be there message to me got lost among spam. So i don't have the opportunity nor I have the desire to respond.
Dubaiforums is an open message board and it will stay open.

well they are STILL online and making money. Strange thing is they have D&B address (address verification org) and approved by Toronto board! Moreover they have really good site. Now they say they are going to have an office in Shiekh Zayed road-lol changed to future tense. It must be one of theimmigrants in Canada ripping ppl off.
