I am an experienced houbara breeder just back from Uzbekistan, and i am hearing that many hunting parties from the Gulf feel that despite the large sums of money involved in maintaining hunting lands in Central Asia, houbara numbers are dropping very fast.

I want to open a Houbara recovery programme so that houbara populations can be replenished and hopefully recover after hunting. This can only be accomplished through small captive houbara breeding projects, established by falconers themselves. Houbara may not be around for long if something is not done now. Happy hunting! Uh-huh so hunting something to the brink of extinction for the sake of 'tradition' is acceptable is it?

Go hunt something which will be around for along time, or that can easily be bred.

Hunting for the sake of it, is not a good enough excuse. But that would be typical of most people involved in sports like that or poaching or whatever - the consequences of their actions aren't realised until it's too late.
