Thought I'd just point out how some people have really lost the plot here just because home help is so cheap.
Point 1 was on Christmas Day, I was out walking in my neighbourhood and it was quite frankly sickening to see so many kids out there on their new bikes/ skateboards etc. with their NANNY there to look over them! Yes, you work hard to buy the presents but the real joy is in seeing your kids enjoy them, not just watching them unwrap them then going back to bed and letting the nanny get on with it. Give the nanny the week off and spend some quality time with your kids for once.
Point 2 was speaking to a language tutor over the break who was describing how she'd been left with a local child who needed to go to the toilet. The kid was about 10 but let's just say things ended up very messy as the kid didn't know how to wipe his own bum - that was the nanny's job and she wasn't there!
Come on people, get a grip.
