Going mad abt a song which is currently running on.... Aug 05, 2009
..... Discovery Channel within the usual 'commercial' breaks

the refrain is '... blue moon ... ' and can be heard in a programme forecast for Discovery World weeknights 'Events that shock the world' (all abt catastrophies)

PLEASE CAN ANYBODY HELP ME OUT WHO THE INTERPRETER/ BAND IS???

used to be famous in the 90's as far as i recall, searched already itunes and the rest of the usual suspects.... but seems to be bloody senseless

thx

I have yet to see/hear it. Will try to get a hold on it once I do. I know how irritating it can be. try googling song in discovery commericial or something. I usually find it like this after some snooping

it just came up a minute ago, but watch out annoyingly there are 2 different spots, one short where the refrain is not appearing and a 'extended# version where its constantly been repeated.....

Its not limited to a commercial it used to be a more or less famous pop song in the 90's or so

thanks for your help

Blu Minus points for the wrong answer. I know bullet by SP and would recognised it. The song came back to me when I youtubed it. Its not the one. :(

Its sounds more like a song from a brit poprock band and its a fast paced song.

Google not my friend no more........although it says that all over the net. Maybe they mean theme tune and not advert music. I checked out the pumpkins tune - agreed, definitley not what i am thinking of.

I seem to think it might be something from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Really heavy guitar and slightly out of tune at the end. What do you reckon.

If it does turn out to be RHCP, can i get back some points for the google incident?! This is all my own work!

I was going to say that too!! I youtubed it as well, but my connection here is appalling and got bored waiting for the tune to kick in to confirm.
I was going to say "I suspect you had a little help from my former friend google too?"....but i see you have already answered that!

Try being fast with an Etisalat radio link carrying your internet......never mind. Maybe someone else has a tune bugging them and i can try again.....easier if you know it straight away rather than asking google, etc - i might stand a chance that way. :)

I'm at work....on an island that until last year was totally empty, so infrastructure, especially communications, were, and in this case still are, temporary at the moment (construction site). Some days it's Ok, but if too many people are logged on, and someone decides to transfer a lot of data, etc, the thing slows up like 56k!
Might be expensive, but i'm not paying!

same bloody things are popin' up in my mind...... but lucky me i commute between 4th world here and Europe quite frequently ... the only thing which bothers you in Europe is the bloody weather.... as everything below 30 DEG is considered as an inhuman condition

so its like a vicious circle... once you are here you are bothered by stupidity/ incompetence/ characters in genral.... once you are there youre getting pissed by the weather and stupid prices for the petrol and cigarettes....

Just re-read my last post. By "why am i still here" i meant with my own job and the cretins i have to work with sometimes. I didn't mean why am i still here in UAE. Just in case anyone was about to post an "...if you don't like it go home, westerner" type post! :)

For the record, I think it's great here, if a little frustrating sometimes with the issues we all know (and moan) about. But at the end of the day i'd rather be here......

I actually find the whole "more money than taste" thing great!

In the UK, outside of London, you're lucky to see a Porsche. Here, you see every car you could think of. And top-spec at that.

Got home last night to find a Maybach limo parked in my parking space, with the chauffeur polishing the windcreen. Honked my horn, made a "I'm parking there, so shift it mate!" sort of gesture, and he moved.

Fantastic, Made my day. That would only happen to me in Dubai!

Brilliant isnt it. I use to live in shj up until a month ago in a small building almost middle of town-Rolla. I would often seen bentleys, Porsches and Range Rovers parked in the dirt lot around my building.
