Free Will, Could It Be Sinful?

Free will, could it be sinful? May 12, 2006
Is free will always limited to right and wrong?

Like for instance, some things we do have nothing to do with right and wrong. They're not sinful, or virtuous and they don't affect the future, yet they are exercised by our own free will.

Like for instance, when you take off your shoes or when you eat or take a shower. All those things have nothing to do with your future and they're not sinful...no one cares if you take your shoes off or if you eat lol.

So can free will be neutral? Or does it always have to be restricted to right and wrong?

similar to the freedom topic that u posted in another forum.
free will is the baby of freedom therefore they r tight related.
free will can be harmfull when it's breaking other's freedome. i am sure that ur neighbour doesn't care if u eat or take a shower( cause it's ur free will and it's not going against his freedome) but i am sure that he/she will go insane if u will hear loud music when he wants to sleep( in that situation he/she can use his free willing to call the police)....i am sure i get my point....

my 2 cents May 12, 2006
Unless you're approaching "free will" from the perspective of Islam, which I am not enlightened enough to comment on, I will pretty much go with Alexandra's idea. I usually put it like this: "The right to swing my fist stops where someone else's nose begins". Unless that nose has been poked into my life, I have absolutely no right to touch it.

There is no any action that does`t affect the future. You say, eating?.. If you eat too much you`ll become fat in future. lol You say taking a shower?.. But instead of it you could do something big & great that would affect your & other people lives but you didn`t do! If you don`t do anything - you do nothing & so also affect your future. No chance to escape from making decisions about right `n wrong. lol

Good point, Douce 'Amere! Not doing anything is sometimes the worst thing you can do (e.g.: not helping a friend or family member who counted (only) on you, not trying to prevent a close person from drifting into the colorful and blissful realm of drugs, etc.)
