I hope that the surgery went well Nucleus. I'm also hoping that they gave you some pain medication Just follow the doc's orders, and don't strain yourself. Rest up and I'm sure you'll feel better soon.
Knee surgery isn't fun, I've had 4 operations in 5 years, any more and the keyhole incisions will be replaced by zippers.
Best advice I can give is ICE. Wrap a packet of frozen peas in a a couple of plastic bags and stick it on your knee for 20 minutes at a time a couple of times a day. This reduces the swelling which reduces the pain and helps the knee recover.
Too bad about the knee. Just keep up on the ice and don't put weight on it for a while. I wish I could give you good news but in my experience knees take a lot longer the heal that you want them to. Once the pain stops and you are back up and walking it may not be a bad idea to get a brace to make sure you don't re-injure it and get laid up again.
All the best with the recovery and again: ICE. It will help.
