A friend told me today that, by March,07 aaaaaaaaaaall the censoring on websites will be removed
Is that true?!

Etisalat is retarded lol sometimes they block sites that have no pornos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

acually no, the proxy will be removed. Du is acually planning to put a proxy on their network after they properly launch

the placing of the proxy in the internet is not up to etisalat acually, its up to the TRA who issue these laws

Umm has this been confirmed? What about VoIP?

i got some dudes in the inside of these companies. Yeah, i dont know about Voip but i hope they can take it off coz its starting to piss me off

Don't expect decent speeds if you have anything to do with Sahm / DIC / Du, the ADSL speeds are absolutely terrible during peak hours sometimes slower than the conventional dial-up.

Ali baba of Etisalat may say "open sesame" but what if we inter and they say "close sesame" ... .. .

the reason they are slow is because the demand for the internet is much faster than acually upgrading international links to support them, btw Sahm and DIC merged and now controlled by Du.

I dont know but i use etisalat, the only thing that gets me was that Voip doesnt work, but for the rest of the internet...its just fine

My problem is I cannot get Etisalat where I live, I would gladly subscribe to the 1meg Al shamil service and the standard telephone service.

Im so fortunate to be in the Media City free zone where there is no censorship, VOIP works fine ... but lately i havent been able to audio chat on msn??

No way. Instead, like others said, dudu will add their own proxy, as mentioned in the papers. I also know people in Etisalat on the engineering side, but they are useless for anything besides work stories.

By the way, the last time I used VOIP was in 2001, through MSN Messenger over here. Was it unblocked back then or does MSN's VOIP still work?
