K9 Friends is delighted to announce that the Dubai
Government has offered the dog rescue organisation a
life line by providing them with sufficient land
within the Dubai area to build a purpose built dog
welfare shelter. The government have intimated a very
real concern to develop animal welfare in the region
and have pledged to help the long established group to
continue the work it has done in the past 19 years.

The K9 Friends Committee said 'This is an amazing result for K9 Friends.
We are incredibly grateful to the Dubai Government for their concern and
support of our organisation. This is another example of Dubai leading the
way forward within the Middle East. We would also like to thank everyone
who has supported us and contributed to our funds over the last couple
of months. Please be assured all the money donated will be put to good
use building a world class dog resuce shelter. This is a huge step forward for animal welfare in Dubai and the best thing that could have happened for the stray and abandoned dogs.

Excellent news - I know there was a lot of concern about the fate of K9. I hear that about 400k Dhs have been raised already.

Dubai Municipality should pay attention first to the laborers camp, which they promised to build in industrial areas two weeks ago.

Now the hard part starts. That is collecting the funds. But will send the DFM (Dubai Forum Mafia for noobies) after then if anyone is thinking of reneging on their pledge

My bad, don't have idea about fundraising activities. But hey, we made some donations to K9 (let's keep it anonymous). I am a dog lover myself.

I don't want to say anything about what I do, but I think I've done enough for K9.

The plot for where the new place will be is quite nice, and I know certain people had to push hard to make sure it wasn't halfway to Oman.

you are too easy asc_26 the new place will actually be next to the Burj Al Arab. You now that nice piece of beach; Well it wont be there for long. Just drive by and you'll see the beginnings of construction
