Okay so if you were to host what would you cook and bake? Something from your culture would be great.

I like cooking. I could prepare for you guys

Appetizer
Borscht (beets, tomatoes, cabbage, meat or chicken) or Irish Stew (lamb, potatoes, leeks)

Main Meal
Stuffed goose
mashed potatoes with cabbage and leeks
sweet potato souffle topped w/marshmallows or pecans
cranberry sauce

Salad
Watercress apple salad

Dessert
Oatmeal cookies
Brownies
Dutch apple pie

Sounds nice! When can I come round for dinner?

My menu:

Appetiser
Lobster tails grilled on fresh rosemary sticks served with a vanilla and champage mousse

Antipasta
Farfalle con vongole with a basil and sweet capsicum reduction

Main course
Chicken Dragomiroff made with finely chopped shallots, rosemary, white wine and cream, served with baby new potatoes and sauteed courgettes

Desert
A rich 3 part chocolate roulade made with plain, milk and white chocolate and crusted with a light britteleine.

Wine selection would be a 2004 Castella San't Angello Pino Grigio with the appetiser and antipasta, a 2006 Framingham Grand Reserve Sauvignon Blanc with the main course and a 2005 Sauternes with the dessert.

Coffee and cigars

Carriages at 11.00pm

:D :D :D

You can't imagine my disappointment. I thought you or Pinoy would prepare a Filiipino feast and expose me to the beauty of your culture and how I should be honored to be mistaken for a Filipino cook or chef.

Get to work. This is your menu. This is what I know about Filipino food so sorry if it's not the best menu.

Appetizer
Champu dish ? or is this dessert? Never had it but saw a box in the international market
Balut

Main
Pancit
Adobo (c'mon Farthestpoint even I know how to make this and I'm not Asian)
Green papaya w/chicken and those little green leaves

Side
Something wrapped in a banana leaf

Dessert
Mangoes and Pineapple
Flan
Funky ice-cream

Drinks
Antonio Pueo hot chocolate
San Miguel beer

Appetizer
Champu dish ? or is this dessert? Never had it but saw a box in the international market -- Champorado is for rainy seasons, good as breakfast, but not appetizer
Balut -- Hehehe not everybody eats this, I don't LOL

Main
Pancit --- Whoah, I one time made a AED 300.00 Pancit and my guests run away! LOL
Adobo (c'mon Farthestpoint even I know how to make this and I'm not Asian) -- I am probably the worst Adobo maker, but I can do this. I do it dry, not the traditional way. It's like just sauteed hahahahha :)
Green papaya w/chicken and those little green leaves -- This is easy but I personally don't like it :)

Side
Something wrapped in a banana leaf -- ?? I know that we could wrap something in banana leaves but for grilling. Do we have an open grill? I can put something inside and grill it :) Easy

Dessert
Mangoes and Pineapple -- OK easy, I can grab this in the supermarket
Flan -- Leche Flan...Don't know how to do it as well
Funky ice-cream -- When I was young, couldn't do it though

Drinks
Antonio Pueo hot chocolate -- Never had one since birth? I don't know this
San Miguel beer -- Huhuhu this is great :)

Sure puppypup brings life to the forum, I am impressed!! :)

Sorry, puppypup I am the last person in terms of cooking! hahahahaha :) Ask me to do anything else apart from cleaning, cooking and ironing!

Let's ask my ex-boyfriend to do the cooking, he used to be the Executive Chef of Ritz Carlton Hotel here in Dubai (youngest ever appointed in the whole Ritz group worldwide). Let him fly to Dubai and do the cooking. It's better for everybody. LOL

So...basically, you have an idea why I don't know how to cook! LOL Men does it for me. Actually, probably that's why they are now called "ex"

I'm American so this sounds exotic except the mushy pea side dish unless it's split pea soup.

Can I have Crunchie instead?

Dry adobo? Sauteed? Sounds like a travesty or a new dish to me.

Hmmm.....I saw Antonio Pueo in the inter. market. Maybe it's regional. It's good though.

speaking of mushy peas, has anyone been to the chippy in JBR?? Went there last week, not impressed! I prefer the chips to be dripping in vinegar, and soaking through the newspaper they are wrapped in! Not soggy and chewy.

Fish and chips are meant to be eaten at a bus stop in the rain, not with waiters in a posh area!

Hahahaha yeah, that's right DK, but not 100 years old, I think it's 4 months old (whoever knows, correct me if I am wrong).

...with the bleak, the hair, the eyes of the duckling...iwwwww hahahaha I love my country but this is really disgusting.

Yuck.

yep , this is very exotic. :?

the best bit is, when you eat the main course, you just slap a bit of the fish, chips and peas into a thick piece of sliced bread, fold it over into a butty and eat.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm yummy
