for reckless driving like that, arrested and car impounded on the spot. if you're a few miles over the speed limit cops have the lee-way to give you a speeding ticket only. but at those types of speeds, locked up right away.

In UK if the same he would have lost his licence for 12 months after the 4th camera. The other 8 woud be of no consequence.

Possiblily in addition he could be charged with dangerous driving or driving without due and care would may add a further 6/12 months driving ban and about a 3-4000 dhm fine.

I dont see what the Dubai police gain by impounding a car when a driver can just buy another car the next day and be on the road again at no inconvienience to them. They should take their licences away for the equivilent of the car compound - not to able to drive for 300 days would teach the driver a lesson he wont be able to forget so easily.

And you think taking away the license would stop them ?

I know a dude who been driving on an expired license for around 12 years now !

It makes the mind boggles how idiots get away with stuff like that on the road. Oh and they reduced the impound time to 300 days to 'make him repsect the road rules more' - so how does reducing the penalty make him repsect it more? Bananas backward thinking as per usual.
