I got a job when I was visiting Dubai, last February.

Is it a normal for a European citizen to collect the visa at the airport when arriving?

PRO asked for time and flight information : is it something common ?

For many yes. But how can they issue you a work visa without doing a medical? That's a prerequisite.

Yes that's why I'm wondering how come the visa can be provided without the medicals?

When you say "for many yes", does it mean you witnessed such case(s)?

PS : I've already worked in Dubai before.

I find it strange.

Employment visa can applied if the person is outside country also. Medical can be done only after you entring on the employment visa or changing your visit visa status to employment visa. If the person is outside country PRO has to submit the original visa at the airport and you had to carry the copy of the visa or you can ask the company to send the original visa to you so that you can submit the original visa at the airport immigration counter.

Its an entry visa for employment purposes, you still have to go through all the usual procedures like medical etc., it just saves you from a "Visa run" later.

entry visa means if you are on arrival visa without your company applying employment visa. then no need to go for medical. Only after getting employment visa you have to do medical.
