All the borders from Dubai now are linked real time to the central Immigration department computer, so yes you should be able to. Its a long way up there (3 hours) so its quicker to run down to Hatta, which is only 1 hour and very quick to go through.

When the OP says "enclave", do they mean Musandam peninsula? In which case I would expect you can do a visa run. Or one of those those territories marked on the map as being Oman, like on the way to Hatta, but there's no border control? In which case you can't.

There is a place in Bur dubai that will extend visas for 30 days,
Im sure some one knows the name on here....
