After a terrible time with standard chartered I am closing my account out of pure spite. Has anyone had a good easy experience with banks here? Which banks are the best?

Lloyds TSB on Al Wasl road by Safa Park mate - its a proper bank honest and its British

Emirates Me bank...... no fees .......simple chequing account. heard good things about it. I will open one account there soon.

Any other opinions about banks? The relevant information will be of great use.

you should specify what you looking for - credit, deposit, debet?

Thanks arnie, I'll check out lloyds, DS I have also heard good things about emirates. Navigator, for clarification, I only need checking and a loan. I think it would be useful for everyone to rate the banks they have used and the service in each department.

I can tell you right now that with standard chartered, you not only get a checking account but they give you high blood pressure and grey hair free of charge! I really think "retarded" is a required qualification to work there. I have nothing good to say about them.

TSB may well be a good bank in other countries, but they are just as muppet-like in DB !

I could give you a few examples, but just suffice to say that lost cards, messages never passed onto the right people, awful customer service, repeated requests for info ignored and even a loan taken out in my name without my agreement !!!!!!!!

I've started with Blays here in AD.
