Anyone had any issues bringing cuffs through customs at DXB airport?

What kind of cuffs are you talking about? Like the ones that have bracelets that go around the wrists and there is a chain that holds them together?? Since they are probably metal, they will in all likelihood be detected when scanned and you may have to explain the purpose for bringing them in. Good luck with that. LOL

assuming that they scan my bag, and query it, will it be a simple confiscation, or will i be dragged away kicking and screaming wearing those cuffs?

Why not remove the link holding them together and wear a "bracket" on each hand??? Tell them it's a fashion statement!!!! LOL

The worst they'll do is confiscate them. The best thing you can do is order such things online and have them couriered into the UAE. Most comapnies ship in descreet packaging as not to give away the contents - no problem

i was being SARCASTIC DUH and anyway my imaginations will be abit too "rude" for you to handle

silk scarfs are ten a penny out here, don't always need cuffs, well unless u got the police outfit to go with it and if your not worried about chaffing, could go for plastic ties which u can get from DIY places.

Call me simple-minded, by why don't you just put them in your suitcase? As long as it's not carry on luggage, it'll only get scanned if you're unlucky enough to be stopped on the way through customs in dubai. Even if they scan it, odds are that they're looking for bottle shapes and gun shapes.

UPDATE:

at the airport, i got stopped for a scan. Bags went through x-ray, they guys were busy talking. Didnt look at the screen, I walked out....... done!
