hey guys

Does anybody know what u should do to be an aerobic or fitness instructor in UAE? Is there any certain certificate that u should get there?

walk up and down a 40 floor building. If you survive that you are a certified instructor

Well to work in any gym or fitness institution you'd need an internationally recognised Personal Trainer qualification. These take quite along time to do and consist of theory in sports science as well as practical areas aswell. It's not something that can be done in a short amount of time, and they're quite costly.

I should imagine some courses can be done via distance learning online.

Your best bet would be to contact somewhere like Fitness First and ask their HR department what qualifications as a rule their instructors have.

I will even sort you out with a certificate made in photoshop

and do not contact fitness first because they require all their trainers to be either BUFF, Slim or Smart. If you are one of them you will get a job.

Nice - then watch someone sue you because you taught them incorrect things and got them injured.

well i got a thing against gyms and personal trainers.

Gyms use SLIM personal trainers so that poor people like us use our personal trainers as our role models. You ask any person going to a gym what he/she wants to become. They will say we want to become just like our personal trainers i.e slim, smart, strong and have 6 pac and you wont be suprised if they have a huge poster of their personal trainers hanging in their bedroom, on top of their beds

so ask yourself why dont we ever see FAT personal trainers

By the way you can learn things yourself now a days. There is thing called Internet . Do you think someone told Beckham how to curle the ball? Or do you think someone told Micheal Johson how to become Superman? come on.

Because personal trainers in gyms have an image to portray, a chubby PT is hardly a good advert for the gym now is it. (I would have thought that was totally obvious!)

But if you want to get into the fitness industry to work in it, then it's a prerequisite unfortunately.

However, I agree with you on not liking gyms, I can't stand them! I can't think of anything more boring, so outside activities that I can do are better.

Turbulence training is a good one to try.

Rudeboy I dont wanna be a personal trainer, I like gymming and I have required certificates in Iran for aerobics instructor. But I like it as a part time job, not for makin money. like if I could lead a class for one hour a day.

In here there are some gyms that they would let people without certificates to be an instructor, I wanted to know how is it in Dubai? is there a legal process you should take or not? should I ask here to translate my certificates or I have to get new ones there?

I agree with u should be slim and in style to be an instructor! you shoukd represent what are the sports benevfits! well I m not slim, but I am OK enough to be an instructor!

melika in the Middle East there is no governing body to check whether gyms have certified instructors or not. There are some gyms like Fitness First which probably have certified instructors but thats only used as a marketting gimick so that their potential clients will get impressed and join their gym rather then joining some other gym. So I am sure you will find some gyms that will allow ppl without certificates become instructors.

For taking classes in the gyms, you would probably still need to get your certificates and have them put inline with internationally recognised qualifications.

As previously stated, your best bet is to contact one of the gyms here and ask. They all have websites.

yes, you will need certificates. and most definitely if you want to lead classes, since only decent gyms offer classes for aerobic workouts such as fitness first hre in dubai...

Do Sports Science from a reputed uni, that should be preferct.
But in Iran I believe one could invest three years and do physiotheraphy directly, that would be way more effective than a sports science certification. That said in certain universities sports science as a course is pretty awsome stuff. It gets quite technical and is really not as simple as people make it out to be!

And seriously who on earth wants a fat and lazy instructor? C'mon......Instructors mostly preach from their own personal experiances, that's why they so buff and lean.

We are living in a world of accreditions. And to become a decent hopefully 8-10k dirhams earning personal trainer, one fine day, you would have to sit for this:

I know in South east asia KL, malaysia (city, picture below) to be specific, the course is like a mere 2500 dirhams and for like half a year or so. Besides Iranians are welcome in malaysia without needing to apply for a visa before hand. With dubai becoming more expensive loads of Iranians/farsis are coming to KL, Malaysia.

Ur primary error in judgement is that you've limited the scope of a fitness instructor.
More than just a buff bod in the gym infact a fitness instructor caters to different requirements of different individuals.

You have heart bypass clients , diabetics, the obese, athletes, children etc. Each has a different requirement, and it's up to the fitness instructor to tailor make an effective program to cater to these various requirements.

Yea so some certification will get you in the industry, but the best in the business are normally the highly qualified, quite often those with physiotherapy or ortheopedic specializations, along with nutritionists as well.
Besides becoming a physiotherapist is really not such a big deal if one is motivated it's simply a three year course with the added option of night classes, making it very accessable.

It all boils down to the level of mastery you seek. My reply was aimed at the the OP, Melika, who's aldready quite a highy qualified individual and as such may not shy away from further rigorous academic qualfication. On the other hand you might be one of those short cut people who prefers the shortest route. Well good for you, but hence forth bear in mind, do keep ur judgements to urself!

So in essence, I provided a lead kid. Something the Original Poster was seeking.

A name of the certifying and accrediting institution for Fitness professionals. And when the person has gotten some real time experience they can seek into delving in to one of the further specific bodies of sports science.

The most value for money and decent place for a person holding an Iranian passport and they have a little Farsi community there too. Though mostly a lot of youth coming to study with a few business people running Iranian restaurants and importing Iranian goods. Not to the economic wealth extent and integration of Iranians in Dubai though. Doubt Dubai has an ACE certified centre if that was her first option.

In Iran for becoming an aerobic instructor you need to pass a class about body anatomy, a class about basic moves and rules of aerobic, and a class for leading other members. besides two months primary and advaced practical aerobics. if you have these 5 certificats they give you a legal permission for leading aerobic in a gym. it is different from personal trainer.

So all my question was should I get my certificates translated or I should get new ones there, since nobody knows an exact answer I think I will contact gyms. thanks again guys. please don't fight

To set things straight I questioned ur lack of perception not ur lingo or grammatical influences. So this has nothing to do wth literature. Kapish?

Next up:-
I may lack real world experiances but I really don't think it's too farfetched to assume one can pursue an alternate degree while working full time. Moreso with colleges offering excellant night time programs, all one needs is motivation.

Ur right when you cite the validity of ACE. but I too know of successfull fitness professionals, coaches etc with much higher qualifications.

As I said earlier it all boils down to the level of mastery one seeks.

Personally I'm the kinda guy who likes to go the whole hog. I'm a finance and economics graduate and to furthur my knowledge enrolling in a BSC in Math program in very much on the cards.

In my opinion certifications are great and are a definate career booster, but when it comes to knowledge nothing beats actually going to a uni and getting ur hands dirty. Thats me!
