I recently purchase an FX35 2008 model with 4000 KMs on it. The second hand dealer advertised / assured me its a gulf specs vehicle.

When i took it for the 5000 servicing at Arabian Automobiles, i was told that the car was not purchased in UAE or Qatar and the servicing book has not been stamped by the original car dealer. Hence there is no warranty on the car.

The second hand dealer told me that the car was purchased from oman (so the warranty is valid in the middle east) and they would get the servicing book stamped within a week. 4 weeks later they have kept making excuses for not having the book stamped by the oman car dealer.

Is there any way of checking from the chasis number whether its a gulf specs car? Or is there any other way to check this out? I'm starting to get worried!
