Expired Registration

Expired registration Dec 14, 2008
Does anyone know what are the consequences of expired registration? Is there any fine to be paid once the car is being registered again?

The issue is that I'm selling the car and it looks like we will not be able to complete the entire process until the expiry date of the existing insurance policy (registration expired last month).

Thanx.

You'll probably pay a fine of a couple hundred dirhams when you register car again. It doesn't seem to matter how late you are - I was 3 months late once and still paid less than 200 dhs. Don't let insurance expire though.

I had to pay 400 dhs in Sharjah for expired registration . I was hit my another car . I was not at fault but still I had to pay 400 dhs for expired registration . Fortunately I had insurance so i got away from being impounded. Since u want to sell your car I am not sure how exactly it works. In the RTA website the fine for expired registration is 400 dhs however.
