Just test drove the 2006 Passat today and what a BEAUTIFUL car!!! Am almost sold on it, but Ive been reading online that in the US they dont have a good reliability record. Is that the same here in the UAE?

If anyone has a VW or a Passat, can you share your experiences?

Also, this is a new model for this year, so Im a tad bit wary about getting the first year of a new model.. Any advice?

I think they are pretty damn good, from what I have heard. However, after 3/4 years they tend to start going "bad" on you. I don't think i would perhaps see it as a long term car, buy it, after 2 years, sell it before Warranty runs out.
