Online trading ME/NA/Europe Jul 15, 2006
I know this is a far shot, but i was wondering if there was one portal where you can trade on Middle Eastern, North American, and European markets online. I know of offshore websites were you can trade in NA and Europe.. but i havent seen any that cover the middle east too.

Some are in the works but right now you can only look into HSBC and other such large enterprises for full coverage.

Smaller do-it-yourself trading houses that cover only the middle east are available like Mubashir and tons of others for NA/EU but those are not combined with Middle East yet mainly because of the regulatory and identity issues and anti-moneylaundering by-laws of those markets.

Cheers,

HBZtrade have recently said they'll trade DFM/ADSM shares, don't know about the rest of the Middle East...

http://www.dubaisharetalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=551 - HBZtrade information

There was a Kuwait broker I saw somewhere that covered at least US stocks (and ME), not sure about Europe. Can't remember name. If it comes back to me, I'll reply here.

EFG Hermes might be worth trying. I see they're on the DIFX member list and they deal with at least DFM/ADSM and Egypt.

Alawsat or Kuwait & Middle East Financial investment company. US and some ME but not Europe as far as I can tell.

I've put what little information I can find in this topic, and will update it if/when I find more.

one thing to add though, you have to have NINs for the Middle East countries you want to invest in, i.e. just because the software allows you to see insturments in Doha, if you can't trade in doha it won't be much use.

Maad you may wish to check out Sharewadi's site if you are interested in stocks in this region although unless you can get in with a broker that'll allow you to short I wouldn't be rushing into the market until mid to late August at the earliest it is not pretty.

Thanks fayz, do update us when those guys get there licensing sorted i am very interested.

As for trading in the region, i have been very reluctant to do that, but now the way i see it many stocks are under valued and i might take a risk with a few (i still think its gambling lol). But ya i am still in the research mode, looking for brokers, etc .. sharewadi's website has been a great resource.

btw, just a little tidbit of info that you'll never hear anywhere else. Your homeland (www.p-s-e.com) was the highest rating return market last year at ~303% (3 times better than Dubai) while Israel dropped more than 11 % in the last 3 days.

HBZtrade Jul 18, 2006
I found about HBZtrade it is a service offered by Habib Bank AG Zurich which is a Swiss bank which has been in the UAE for many years and offers a cool web banking service which is free. HBZtrade is an online service where you can trade in UAE and US securities. The service can also be accessed with your PDA or cellphone...
All you need to open an account with Habib Bank AG Zurich.
