I am planning to visit Dubai in February 2009 for a month.
I was told by a friend that it is possible to find a small 1 BR or studio cottage or villa outside of Dubai City, in the suburbs, I guess, for 800 US dollars a month, or approximately 2940 dirhams/month.
Is such a property possible to find in Dubai for that rate?
I want the rental to be in a nice neighborhood. I know that in Denver I could never find a vacation rental property for $800/mo that is worth renting. It would be a horrible property in a high crime area.
If $800/mo is a silly notion, what are the average monthly rentals rates for vacation rentals in Dubai or surrounding neighborhoods?
It is difficult on the Internet to find sites that allow property owners to post their rental properties so I can see some of the average rents. Most of the sites are run by property rental firms for the high-rent properties in the city or the marina areas, etc, but I don't want to spend $5,000 USD for a month-long stay in Dubai.
