Anyone got / reccomend somewhere close(ish) to the marina!? preferably with pictures to e-mail me?!

You mean 5000 dhs per month? You won't get anything near the Marina except maybe a room in a shared villa or apartment.

For studio you'll have to try International City. For 1 bdrm maybe an older place in Ghusais, or Karama, or Deira.
