Don't mess with Iranian women!

Apparently Iranian sportswomen did well in the recent Asian games - winning gold in Wushu and Bronze in Tae Kwon Do. I came across this photo site today (see Christmas in Iran thread) and these set of photos of Iranian sportswomen was also featured.

Cheer up FD, it is Christmas. Give up the hate and cynicism for a day at least. These are just some photos of Muslim women who don't quite fit the Islamophobic fantasy stereotype. Whilst I understand this may offend your sensibilities - your complaining is getting a bit old. Just some feedback (in my non-mod capacity) - as mod I'd defend your right to be grumpy.

So, don't be a grinch.

But to keep you happy, here's the Iranian pres with a medalist - and the political angle would be just the fact Iran is in the news a lot and Islamphobes bang on about how Islam oppresses women etc. :

They all look a bit butch to me. Women shouldn't play football, that's just wrong.
