I hope this not a stupid question - but I need to buy some windscreen washer fluid / screen wash and haven't found any in either Carrefour or at the filling stations. I had a fun time at the filling station describing washer fluid - but it's the stuff that goes in the car and squirts out onto the windscreen when you pull the indicator lever (I never thought I'd have to describe this.. but I was met with blank stares and offered a window cleaning spray!!) I can only imagine it's known by another name here? Cheers, Shafique

hahaha, it's funny you mention this, I couldn't find it in a gas station either, I did find some in Geant and was told that Carrefore has it as well. they only sell the concentrate kind, i.e. it won't be in the 4 litre container but rather a 1 litre and you add water. http://www.dubaiforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=23281 I think most people in the region just add water.

Thanks Fayz - I'll have a look in Geant, Carrefour didn't have it last time I looked, and I also looked for the concentrate. I tried searching earlier, but when it didn't work - I thought 'surely no one has asked this recently' Cheers, Shafique

I've just used dishwash liquid in the past.

"dish wash liquid"... NEVER use this... Dish wash liquid is corrosive and should never be used as windshield washer. In addition, when is leaks on your paint; it removes the paint protection and could even cause non-removable stains if your paint is older... Better is to use a car wash soap that does not contain wax...

If you drive into any Emarat station with an express wash just drive up and ask, they will put in the concentrate and fill your washer bottle with water. The service is free all you pay is for the sachet of concentrate.
