so we can be thankful and grateful for life. like bleakus said, its the same reason why god doesnt cure all diseases. I mean think about it, how grateful could a person be for what he/she has if there wasnt someone out there who was less fortunate than they are. How humane could we as individuals be if everyone was exactly the same (in regards to health, money and so on) it sounds a bit harsh...but it makes sense to me.

I think the christian god did- to that effect that is. During the capture of jesus, there was a riot of some sorts between the roman soldiers and jesus' disciples... blah blah.. where a guy's ear was cut off and then jesus blah blah.. the ear was healed. Well coming from a non-christian, i'm really not sure. :?
