| which linux flavour would u choose that is free? Im currently typing this using Xandros. Let me know of any other famous ones? that are FREEand worth using. |

Dave, by definition of the GPL, a Linux distribution must be free, at least free to download. Ubuntu is certainly the best pick for noobs, but there's too many distros to list. Another popular one is Mandriva/Mandrake Linux. |

| I currently installed Xandros (which is crap) on my home pc. But whats nice abt Xandros is its file manager. I automatically connects to all hard drives of windows (NTFS). Unfortunatly Ubuntu doesnt do that for u. U have to manually mount the hard drive urself. And on ubuntu, it doesnt allow u to write on the NTFS partition for some reason. But the Xandros file manager i svery iser friendly and allows u to do so. N ways, im practising now on linux...i want to improve a bit. |
